Bridgewood Youth Soccer (BYS)
Welcome to the BYS Family!
Located in the Bridgewood subdivision in NW San Antonio at Bridgewood Park on Vollmer Ln, Bridgewood Youth Soccer (BYS) is our awesome open to all communities, low-cost, and non-competitive children's soccer league for ages 4 through 13.
We focus on fun, outdoor exercise, and learning how to play soccer! Children from ALL communities are eligible to play. In our league, we prioritize fairness and teamwork. We do not keep scores. Players are encouraged to value the experience and fun they are having rather than whether they are winning or losing.
We are truly happy you are here and excited that you will learn all about BYS!
Please reach out to us with questions, comments, and suggestions. BYS is run by an all-volunteer Committee, Coaches, and Team Parents. The Committee can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Steph Gill, Commissioner, can be reached at email@example.com.
Breast Cancer Awareness Support 10/16
In support of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are asking all participants to feel free to wear something pink to the next games on Saturday, 16 October. We're hoping this will be fun and will send a great message of support to those in our BYS family who have fought breast cancer.
New Concussion Policy
A new season brings new rules. Due to our insurance policy's requirements, if a player is hit in the head or suspected of having a concussion, they will be removed from the game/practice and cannot return to play/practice without receipt of a note from a physician clearing them for play. There are to be no exceptions to this rule. Please do not blame the Coach, they are just following mandated requirements.
To ease this new requirement in regards to location and cost, BYS has partnered with the nearby Innovative Urgent Care to offer you the required clearance for only $25 (regular $40). Innovative Urgent Care is located at 9910 W 1604 N, Suite 128, San Antonio, TX 78254. Please ask for Whitney Sanchez and mention BYS for your discount. Whitney has also graciously prepared the TBI documents you will need for your visit and they can be found here.
All players will need:
Water bottle (mandatory for play/practice)
Rubber or plastic shin guards
Correct size soccer ball (see below for sizes)
